Memo20 (VIC-20)
A downloadable game
Memo20 is a simple yet engaging game inspired by the classic memory game Simon, written in Basic V2.0 for the glorious Commodore VIC-20 (unexpanded).
In Memo20, your goal is to replicate an increasingly complex sequence of colors and sounds. The game begins with a single tone and color, progressively adding more to the sequence as you advance. Use the keyboard of your computer to select the colored sectors and follow the pattern. A mistake ends the game, encouraging you to try again and beat your previous score.
Memo20 was created to participate in the "Simon Game (Basic Jam)" hosted by Phaze101 and supported by the Facebook group Retro Programmers Inside (RPI).
Game controls
Use your computer keyboard to replicate the sequence:
- [Q] Green sector
- [W] Red sector
- [A] Yellow sector
- [S] Blue sector
Follow the on-screen instructions to start the game.
Some "special function" keys may be available.
System requirements
To play Memo20, you need a real Commodore VIC-20 computer, an emulator, or compatible systems such as THE C64, THE C64 Mini, and THE VIC20. The game was thoroughly tested on a real Commodore VIC-20 and on the VICE emulator.
